I’ve talked a lot lately about change. Some of you have messaged me about your own transitions, uncertainty, and new directions you are heading.

I’m realizing that eventually, there comes a moment when you have to stop describing the change and become it. I’m also realizing that I don’t want to keep introducing myself through where I’ve been or explaining every decision that brought me here. Don’t get me wrong, those chapters still matter. They shaped me, taught me, and gave me plenty to carry forward. But they are no longer the whole story.

I’m building the creative and community-centered life I’ve imagined for myself. It’s exciting, uncertain, but increasingly true. There is a difference between wondering who you might become and deciding to live as that person.

That doesn’t mean I have everything figured out. This week, the Lion reminds me that personal power doesn’t always arrive with a dramatic roar. Sometimes it’s simply the moment you stop shrinking, plant your feet, and say: This is who I am now.

Lion carries an unmistakable presence. It does not rush to prove its strength or expend its energy without purpose. Lions can spend most of the day resting and yet even in that stillness, their power is evident.

Lions are also the most social of the big cats. They live in prides, forming strong bonds and working together to protect territory and raise their young. Their strength is not diminished by connection. They can belong deeply to the pride without disappearing inside it.

That may be one of Lion’s most important lessons: true power is not performance.

It is not speaking the loudest, controlling the room, or constantly demonstrating what you can do. Power is the steadiness that comes from knowing who you are even when no one is applauding, affirming, or fully understanding you.

A lion’s roar communicates across the landscape. It helps members of the pride recognize one another, strengthens their connection, and announces that the territory is occupied. The roar is not noise for the sake of attention, it is a clear declaration: I am here.

The Lion is a reminder that you can also make that declaration in your own life.

There will ALWAYS be reasons to wait. You can wait until you feel more certain, wait until everyone understands, wait until the timing is perfect, or until someone gives you permission. Courage is not the absence of those doubts. It is the decision that these doubts don’t get to determine the size of your life.
