Any time you start something new, it’s a mix of excitement and uncertainty. Some things click right away. Others… well, they don’t. There are moments when creativity is overflowing and moments when you can’t seem to find a single good idea.
But as I sit here about to hit send on this first Daily Wild newsletter, I feel mostly one thing: gratitude.
So first, thank you to my day ones. You’ve been part of this journey over the past weeks and months, and it means a lot to have you here, reading this.
So, what is The Daily Wild?
The idea came from noticing when I feel most at peace and fully connected. Again and again, it came back to moments with animals. Kayaking with manatees in Florida. Playing with chipmunks in Colorado. Spotting turtles while diving in Mexico.
There’s something about animals… their presence, their instincts, the way they move through the world that feels grounding and real. At the same time, life has gotten loud. We’re constantly connected, but not always in the ways that actually matter.
The Daily Wild (and this Weekly Wild newsletter) is my attempt to shift that. To create small moments of reconnection with nature, with yourself, and with something a little more instinctive and real.
Each week, I’ll share a bit of that here.
You’ll get:
An animal insight — something to notice or learn from the wild around you
A simple reflection or journal prompt
A “Daily Wild Experiment” — a small nudge to try something different and see what happens
Nothing complicated. Just small ways to stay curious, stay present, and stay a little wild.
I’m really glad you’re here.

LESSONS FROM THE WILD
There’s a clever path forward, stay curious.

FOX
I saw a fox in my backyard right as The Daily Wild was starting to take shape. The fox wasn’t darting through the woods or disappearing quickly, but in broad daylight, calmly walking the edge of my pool like it had something to prove.
It felt deliberate, like a quiet nudge: you’re overthinking this, I’m right here. Foxes don’t rely on force, they rely on awareness. They watch, adapt, and find the path that requires the least resistance. They tend to appear when the direct route feels blocked or effort alone isn’t working.
As a guide, the Fox invites us to pause just long enough to notice what we might be missing. There is rarely only one way forward. Curiosity opens options and these options can change everything.
This was just the message that I needed in that moment and I hope it sparks something for you, too.
Wild Prompt: What other approach, angle, or small idea could I try instead of forcing the current plan?
Your Daily Wild Experiment
Each week in this space, you’ll get something to try, a simple way to connect more deeply to the wild all around you.
Here’s this week’s Daily Wild Experiment.
Every day this week, take a short walk. Leave your phone behind and as you walk, look for:
Patterns
Movement
Animals
Interesting plants
Anything unexpected
Don’t try to interpret it or find deep meaning, but just be in the moment. Fox energy isn’t about figuring everything out. It’s about becoming aware enough to see a new path when it appears.
I’d Love To Hear From You.
As we build this community, I would love more than anything to hear from you. What’s landing? What did you notice this week? What do you want more of? Just reply to this email and let me know.
There is so much more to come in the next few weeks and months and I’ll share it all with you here.
I would also love it if you would help me grow and share the subscribe link with friends you think would enjoy The Daily Wild?
